As Red Frogs, our role is to support a generation of school leavers during what can be an enjoyable, yet at times, physically and emotionally confronting week. Below are the many ways Red Frogs assist during Schoolies week on the Gold Coast.
Join the CrewGold Coast
The Gold Coast is Australia’s largest Schoolies destination with over 40,000 students descending on Surfers Paradise for 2 weeks!
Red Frogs operate as part of the Queensland Government Safety Response and as such, provide incredible support for Schoolies, accommodation managers and other community members.
From cooking pancakes to walking schoolies home in the early hours of the morning you can guarantee you will leave Schoolies week knowing that you have made a difference in the life of someone else.
See below for volunteer requirements, dates, costs and roles.
We need your help to safeguard a generation on the Gold Coast!

No Blue Card? No sweat! You can apply right now!

If you are volunteering on the Gold Coast for Week 2, you will still be required to hold a current Working With Children's Check from your home state.
#Red Frog Roles
Red Frog Hotline Crew
The Red Frog call centre is the hub of the Red Frog movements around Australia, receiving calls for anything from random acts of pancakes to more serious issues requiring immediate response.
Call centre volunteers are rostered on day, night and late night shifts. As call centre crew you are part of a team of people who will provide directives to the hotel chaplains, allowing them to make maximum impact in supporting Schoolies and get to incidents in time, instead of after time.
Entertainment Crew
DJ’s, dancers, & die-hard party-goers apply here. Red Frogs entertainment stages are the most popular form of Schoolies entertainment.
If you’ve got energy, and the skills to match, then this is the role for you.
(NOTE: only available for Week 1)
Walk Home Crew
Walk home crews are our fittest Froggers, getting the Schoolies back home safe and sound. Walk homes (particularly in the darker areas of Surfers Paradise) make the Schoolies feel safe, protected and loved throughout the week.
RF Creative Crew
Whether you’re handy with a camera, have a director’s cap or just love telling a great story - we need you.
As RF Creative we get the privilege of capturing the incredible behind-the-scenes moments and stories as our crew safeguard a generation - if this is up your ally we would love for you to join us. For more info and to express your interest click below.
Support Crew
Enabling Red Frogs to operate over the duration of Schoolies requires a huge amount of resources constantly being set up, relocated and managed.
If you’re a ‘behind-the-scenes’ kind of person, have an available van or ute, like lifting and helping with set-up, or even doing VIP shuttle runs - then this is role for you.
Hotel Chaplains
Hotel Chaplains are the core of our Schoolies response. As a chaplain you will be part of a team of 4 to 5 crew members responsible for a hotel 24/7. This is your opportunity to build friendships with the Schoolies by being available to them in their hotels, on the streets or in the Schoolies Hub.
Each team has a team leader as well as a strong network of pastoral carers and location leaders, ensuring you are valued and supported day and night. Being a Hotel Chaplain is a full time commitment for your selected date block.
DAY ZONE CREW!
Want to serve with Red Frogs in Hotel Chaplaincy, but can't do nights?
You can apply to be a part of the Day Zone Crew!
Hotel Chaplains on day shift will be smashing out stacks of pancake requests, and get the opportunity to hang out with Schoolies as they wake from their slumber. There is so much need on the service during the days now, that we need day time chaplains just like you!
